'Nature As Co-Therapist' Learning and Immersion

  • Douglas Scrub campsite 216 Douglas Gully Road Blewitt Springs, SA, 5171 Australia (map)

Nature Wellbeing Australia is proud to host this unique, ‘once off’ offering.
This 4-day training and retreat is designed for psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and other practitioners who want to partner with nature as co-therapist.
With renowned Nature-Guided Therapy advocate, trainer and practitioner Adjunct Professor George Burns, clinical psychologist and author of ‘Nature guided therapy - Brief integrative strategies for health and wellbeing’ . In collaboration with NWA members, Lucy Van Sambeek (Mental Health Social Worker, Metaphorically Speaking) and Bronwyn Paynter (nature based occupational therapist, Nature OT).

This is a multi-disciplinary gathering where all therapy and wellbeing professionals are welcome as we explore, learn, practice and experience ways of intentionally partnering with nature in our work. This is not another conference with a lot of speakers and lots of ‘tastes’ of ideas (and no time for deep connected conversations.

This is in-depth, small group, personal training and experiencing. You will leave with skills and strategies you can apply straight away AND a community of like-minded practitioners to support you in your work. You will deepen your understanding of how and why nature supports your clients to achieve their goals, ways to work with clients with nature as your co-therapist and connection with a community of like-minded practitioners.
Thursday May 4 to Sunday May 7, 2023.
Set in heritage protected nature on South Australia’s, Fleurieu Peninsula.
2 and 4 day all inclusive packages available.
